Taeko represents a brand of echo village in the Takeo province in Cambodia. Taeko was established in collaboration with the Meas Family to encourage the villagers to grow organic fruits, vegetables and herbs that can be then converted into natural health and wellbeing products. The entrepreneurs involved in this project now grow fresh vegetables and fruits, produce Virgin coconut oil and natural cosmetics.
The purpose of the project was to create a training organic farm where locals can learn how to grow their own food as done at GIY in Ireland. That way they can ensure food security and also use this for as an economic development opportunity.
To become a sustainable business, taeko focused on creating value adding products that are made from the raw materials that can be found in the rural areas or grown by the farmers in the countryside. The product portfolio now includes coconut oil, natural soaps, herbal teas and spa products.
